About BikesBay

Hi! My name is Alexander Crow, and I am the founder of BikesBay. The story of the project began in 2017 when a friend of mine, the owner of a large rental business in Chiang Mai (Thailand), shared his challenges. Despite the numerous programs available for managing rental businesses, none met his expectations: some required significant modifications, while others didn’t account for the specific needs of his business. He suggested I develop a system that could address these gaps.

Drawing on my experience in the IT field and working with teams developing various online systems, I decided to turn the idea of BikesBay into reality. In 2017, together with two developers, we created the first prototype of the system, which addressed the key needs of the rental business. However, due to a heavy workload on other projects, I realized that I wouldn’t be able to dedicate enough time to release a fully functional version that could be widely distributed among rental companies, rather than just a few clients. As a result, the development of BikesBay was temporarily paused.

In 2022, the desire and opportunity to focus on the project arose. I gathered a team of top specialists, and we returned to active development. A key milestone in our development was our collaboration with Thaimoto, our anchor client and one of the largest rental companies on the island of Samui (Thailand). Thanks to their experience and deep understanding of the specifics of the rental business, we were able to integrate valuable competencies and upgrade the system to a modern level. After completing the first fully functional version, we prepared BikesBay for large-scale deployment and continuous improvement, with regular additions of new features and enhancements.

Today, BikesBay is a comprehensive solution for managing rental businesses, suitable for both motorbike and car rentals. It includes a web version of the system and a mobile application available for Android and iOS platforms. My team and I are proud to offer a product that not only combines convenience and reliability but also helps our clients reduce costs, increase profits, and efficiently manage their business, taking into account all its nuances. For example, one of the key features — Smart Notifications — helps reduce maintenance costs by up to 15% per year. This is confirmed by data from our clients, particularly Thaimoto. The system sends reminders about necessary maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, through the mobile application and web version. This helps prevent serious breakdowns, which in turn reduces expenses and extends the lifespan of the vehicles.

Here’s how it works in practice

Each vehicle has its own maintenance schedule. Let’s take oil changes as an example. If a specific vehicle’s rules state that oil should be changed every 4000 km, 8000 km, and so on, the system will start notifying you in advance. Suppose your motorcycle has a mileage of 3925 km — the system will notify you that an oil change is required in 75 km. You can perform the oil change in advance, and your staff can simply mark it in the app, entering the mileage and the cost of the oil change.

The system automatically accounts for the early oil change and adjusts the next mileage mark for the following oil change. You don’t have to calculate anything — the system will notify you in advance when the vehicle approaches the next required mileage. All this information is immediately recorded in the expenses for this motorcycle and included in the company’s overall expenses. And it’s all done with just a few clicks right at the maintenance point! Convenient? Absolutely! And that’s not even mentioning the many other useful features under the hood of our system that make managing your business even easier and more efficient!

Best regards,
Alexander Crow
